Starting January 2026, the CAPR will introduce the Canadian Physiotherapy Competency Examination (CPTE), a unified exam replacing both the Written Component and the Clinical Component—formerly known as the PCE & OCE. The CPTE combines a Written Section and an Oral Section, both delivered virtually on the same day. This unified exam aims to simplify the licensing process while maintaining rigorous standards for physiotherapy practice in Canada.
